Smart phones have become a part of daily life. Browsing, reading, shopping, navigation - there's little they can't do.  For those who like shoes with their news, there's a new breed of fashion apps making waiting rooms and the ride to work a little more fabulous.

1.ChicFeed (Free)
This one is for the Street Style photography junkies. Easy to navigate, the app curates the best, latest, greatest shots from the masters of the genre – The Satorialist, Jak and Jill and Cherry Blossom Girl. Easy to get lost in.

2. Stylebook ($3.99)
One hundred percent customisable, this app is the ultimate fashion planner. It allows you to organise and sort your own clothes - what to wear, what to pack and style inspirations. Just snap pieces from your wardrobe and upload then play with over 90 fun and functional features. My favourite is the magazine style, flat-lay page that allows you to put outfits together on the page - it's like having a wardrobe specialist in your handbag.

3. Tiffany & Co Engagement Ring Finder (Free)
It doesn’t matter if you’re already married or never planning on it – this app is just fun. Play with virtual diamonds and dream of carats the size of golf balls. Now you can have Breakfast at Tiffany's everyday.

4. Snapette (Free)
Another instagram-esque app with a cute name. It’s full of fashion eye candy with snaps of everything from ballgowns to shoes. Lots of dreamy, pretty pictures – it’s a coffee table book on your phone.

5. The Cut On The Runway (Free)
This is the best collections app on the market. It delivers all the runway collections as they happen (or almost) and has the most significant archive of collections past. Every show from every fashion week around the globe plus designer updates, backstage beauty, front row and party images.

6. Pose (Free)
Do you love uber stylist Rachel Zoe? Well then you’ll die. She's an investor in this photo share app that asks you to do what the name suggests - pose. Make like a model, snap your outfit, then post and share through Facebook. If you’re a fashion lover there are a lot of high profile fashion names to follow – including Zoe herself – who post their fierceness daily.


7. Go Try It On (Free).
I love this one. You know those moments when you’re in a change room and not quite sure if the jeans/dress/shorts suits you? All you want is an honest opinon? Stress no more. This app is your new, honest best friend. Simply upload a shot of yourself wearing the outfit in question and within seconds the app's fashion community will deliver the sometimes brutal truth. The most genius thing is the blurring filter which allows you stay anonymous.


8.Trendabl (Free)
The newest kid on the photo-sharing block, this app is billed as 'Instagram for fashion'. It allows you to snap, upload and tag - pieces you like, where you bought it, label, store, price etc. It also invites members to follow the 'tastemakers' like Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, Nicky Hilton, Whitney Port and Brad Goreski. With all the usual filters and share devices of Instagram this app is for those who like to look at clothes (and only clothes) all day long.


9. Mulu.me (Free)
A social sharing/shopping app that allows you to curate your favorite content from all over the web. Mulu.me is similar to Pinterest in look and feel but really more like Esty because you can shop from it. The cool part is that a portion of the sales profits go to charity. Celebs and fashion pack allumni are called “gurus” on the site and you can follow them and their 'hot buy' recommendations.


10. Chicotopia (Free)
This one is addictive. Follow fellow Chictopians to view and read any/all of their Chic Blogs. You can stalk or you can share - members of this app are almost from another planet, which is what makes it so pervy. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
