At this point, Kanye West has demonstrated that he has no intention of leaving the fashion game untouched by his creative genius. He might have sat out the last few seasons of fashion week, but it looks like Yeezus Christ is poised to once again outfit throngs of unclothed fashionistas. In the profile W released on the artist today, we got a little tea on a new design
project he’s been planning to drop on us in July. This time, the rapper’s joined forces with a “hip French brand” on a men’s capsule range of hip hop staples: tees, jeans, and hoodies. The article never tells us which brand, but West says that the collection is going to have a pared-down feel, as opposed to the widely-panned first offering from his namesake label. “The first collection was way better than the second, it was more artful,” he says. “It was 30 collections in one… I tried to come out of the gate going crazy. And it didn’t work.” His solution the third time around? “I have to somehow put out something that says, ‘I look sensible!’ ”
