Legendary Cosmopolitan editor Helen Gurley Brown died yesterday at the age of 90. She served on the Cosmo staff from 1965 until 1997. Brown is credited with bringing sex to the forefront in women’s magazines in a time where the idea of a woman enjoying sex was taboo. She penned Sex and the Single Girl in 1962, a tome which set the mood for open, honest discussion about women’s sex lives.
