Taé is a derivative of the name Taiwo, given to the first born of the Yoruba twins, the literal translation being “The first to taste life.”

In June 2003, Bisola Edun set out to establish a clothing line that would bridge the gap between traditional and western apparel in Nigeria. Her mission was simple: First, to create trendy, durable and affordable clothing for women. Second, to accurately andenthusiastically respond to the ephemeral nature of today’s fashion.

This vision and mission resulted in the actualization of Taé; a line of beautiful and truly inspired clothing for the sexy, confident and fun loving woman. The design philosophy is the creation of a fun, funky and fabulous image for the woman wearing it.

The fusion of gorgeous African and Western fabric often embellished with stones and sequins, lends an air of elegance and timelessness to our clothing. It is no wonder the signature embellished skirts are often sold out within days of reaching the store!

Bisola’s exceptional talent was recognized in October 2007, when she won the British Council Award for International Young Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year. Our commitment at Taé, is to continue to bring to the market, phenomenal yet comfortable designs to meet the need of today’s woman.
