Uchechi Arinze was born in England to a Nigerian Father and Guyanese Mother. After relocating to Nigeria she began to develop an interest in fashion because her mother ran a fashion house called Audari. After her graduation from secondary school at Queen's College, she entered the University Of Lagos to study Architecture. In her 5th year she decided to enter the Ade Bakare's young designer's competition on a whim and she ended up coming
second, immediately after that she started her 1st label a ready to-wear affordable line called Eznira. After Graduating in 2011. She decided to delve completely into Fashion and interned at the Arise magazine Fashion Week 2011 after which she worked Backstage with Costumes at the Fela Show. In June of 2011 she started Working full time on Mai Atafo Inspired's design team which involved styling, designing and working on various fashion shows e.g The
Dream Wedding, The Sleek 'symphony of Style' 3 e.t.c. During this period she created The Eznira's Clothes Swap an eco friendly way for women to change their wardrobes with minimal costs. In 2012 she launched her self titled fashion label Chechi Arinze which is know for it's feminine and edgy aesthetic.
