THE MUSEO Salvatore Ferragamo is marking the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death by releasing a book of iconic and previously unseen photographs of the star. The tome coincides with an exhibition currently being held at the Florence museum.
The book - simply titled Marilyn - is edited by museum director Stefania Ricci and art critic Sergio Risaliti, and features imagery of the actress from throughout her life and career; on film sets, at home, and in public. It's due to hit shelves on September 25.
The accompanying 50th anniversary exhibition sees 50 of Monroe's outfits on display - including her favourite Salvatore Ferragamo footwear. The actress was a loyal customer of the Italian fashion house, and is credited with making Ferragamo's four inch-heel pumps world famous.
